In this print, a young and old fallow buck lay in a grassy field, with the young buck, distinguishable by his spots, resting his head on the stomach of the older deer. Fallow deer are native to Europe, and the sight is one that would not have been uncommon in the countryside of England, where the print was likely published circa 1840.
