First published in Italian in 1751, this work saw numerous editions and translations into several languages, including modern Greek. The author was lecturer in Palermo in 1742 and later Vicar- general and provincial Inquisitor of the kingdom of Sicily. The present work deals with the necessity for immediate baptism, a concern which led the author to advocate frequent Caesarian section. To him went the distinction of baptising the first infant delivered by Caesarian section in Sicily. Blake p. 77. This edition not mentioned in Hirsch, Brunet, or Wellcome.
