John Acher, born Ralph Bowman in Osceola, Nebraska. Won a radio talent contest ("Gateway to Hollywood") which awarded him his stage name and an RKO contract. Starred in B movies like King of the Zombies and featured in major films like White Heat. Served as the famous radio voice introducing the mystery program The Shadow ("Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?"). Father of Oscar-nominated actress Anne Archer. Binding: Unbound
