Major points of interest are lettered corresponding with an index in the upper right corner. Several ships are illustrated in the harbor. Published for Mr Tindal's Continuation of Mr Rapin's History of England

James Basire (1704-1768) was a London based engraver, producing mostly maps and book illustrations. He often worked closely with the publisher John Nourse, engraving as well as printing his plates for publication. His father, Isaac Basire, was the first in a family line of prolific engravers, with James, his grandson, and great-grandson (all named James) also becoming prominent engravers.
