Francesco Bartolozzi (1727-1815) was an Italian engraver who spent his most productive years in London, where he served as Engraver to King George III and became a founding member of the Royal Academy.

Giovanni Battista Cipriani (1727-1785) was an Italian-born painter, draughtsman, and designer who became a key early exponent of Neoclassicism in England. He moved from Florence to London in the mid-1750s, where he spent the rest of his life producing elegant classical and allegorical designs for paintings, decorative schemes, book illustrations, and engraved prints, many of which were engraved by his close collaborator Francesco Bartolozzi.
