Intended for display inside subway cars, this rarity was the official map of the New York City subway system from 1979 to Spring of 2025. The map is the 1983 edition and was designed Michael Hertz Associates under the direction of John Tauranac. John Tauranac was chair of the MTA Subway Map Committee, which experimented with various designs for a new map beginning in the summer of 1977. It features a detailed layout of the subway lines across New York City, each line distinguished by different colors. The map includes graphic elements such as lines, symbols, and text to convey comprehensive information about the subway system. The map combines both geographical accuracy and schematic elements to balance usability. Now a classic. Condition is excellent.
