Railroad and County Map of Oregon
Grant, 1887.
Map. Color lithograph. Sheet measures 17 1/4" x 23".
This interesting double-page map depicts Oregon divided into counties with railroad lines and stations marked. Incredibly detailed, towns, cities, counties, waterways, mountains, Indian reservations, and important topography are noted. Parts of British Columbia, Idaho, and Oregon are also shown. Index and explanation on verso. From Grant's Standard American Atlas of the World. The map is in good condition with minor wear to original centerfold.
After serving in the Union army, George F. Cram (1842-1928) joined his uncle's map business and later established his own engraving and publishing firm in Chicago in 1869. This is an excellent example of his work.
