Railroad and County Map of Washington
George F. Cram & Co., 1889.
Map. Color lithograph. Sheet measures 17 1/4" x 23".
This concise double-page map depicts Washington divided into counties with railroad lines and stations marked. Incredibly detailed, towns, cities, counties, waterways, mountains, Indian reservations, and important topography are noted. Parts of British Columbia, Idaho, and Oregon are also shown. Index and explanation on verso. The map is in good condition.
After serving in the Union army, George F. Cram (1842-1928) joined his uncle's map business and later established his own engraving and publishing firm in Chicago in 1869. This is an excellent example of his work.
