Detailed map of the Indian subcontinent, beautifully hand colored to show various Rajahs, British colonial "possessions", and other regions. A key in the lower right lists settlements claimed by other European powers: Dutch, French, Danes, and Portugal. Rivers, cities, and towns are labeled throughout. Topography is rendered by hachure. This map, published in 1844, appeared in Teesdale's "New General Atlas of the World." It is in good condition with side margins cropped, some minor scattered foxing, and original centerfold lined with linen.
