This map of the Grecian islands is centered on the Aegean sea and depicts many islands in impressive detail. Topography is shown by hachure, and coastlines are delicately hand colored in blue. Labels refer to ancient place names. Small ink stain to upper right corner, does not affect image.
The Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge was formed in 1826 and published low cost maps with the goal of reaching a large market, while still maintaining high quality and precision.
