Striking post war, large scale folding map of London, highlighting 'Blitzed City Areas". Area covered includes Farringdon, Southwark, Aldgate and Aldwych in the West end. George Washington Bacon (1830 - 1922) was a London-based book and map publisher. His firm, G.W. Bacon and Co., published several important atlases, including The New Ordnance Atlas of the British Isles. This map is a fine example of Bacon's publishing work.
