Item #327901 Railroad and County Map of Virginia, W. Virginia. George F. CRAM.

Railroad and County Map of Virginia, W. Virginia

Chicago: George F. Cram & Co., 1891.

Map. Color lithograph. Sheet measures 17 1/4" x 23 1/8"

This graphic and detailed double-page map depicts Virginia and West Virginia divided into counties. The map covers all of North Virginia and West Virginia as well as neighboring Maryland and Delaware. Incredibly detailed, towns, cities, counties, waterways, railways, roads, and important topography is noted. An inset in top left includes the south west part of Virginia. Includes an explanation. The map is in good condition with minor edge and centerfold wear.

After serving in the Union army, George F. Cram (1842-1928) joined his uncle's map business and later established his own engraving and publishing firm in Chicago in 1869. This is an excellent example of his work.
