Poster advertisement for Harper's Magazine. In very good condition, with one small closed tear to lower margin, and some areas toned. Harper's New Monthly Magazine began in June 1850 and continues its reputation for fine and original writing.
Edward Penfield (1866-1925) was an artist who lived and worked in New York City. Known as the "originator of the poster in America", Penfield designed for Harper's in the 1890's and his work is still highly collectible and sought after.
