George Nehemiah Colby (1846-1890) was an American civil engineer and map publisher from Maine. He specialized in creating detailed wall maps, county and state atlases, primarily focused on Maine, which were sold by subscription. Colby initially worked with the U.S. Coast Survey. His maps were highly detailed and often included family names and landholdings, making them valuable for genealogical research. Colby partnered with Frederick B. Roe and later Joseph Harry Stuart, with Stuart continuing Colby's map publishing business into the 1930s.
