Print. Etching with hand coloring. Image measures 8" x 11 3/4"
The Latona fountain (aka frog fountain) was the result of the desire of Louis XIV. He wanted in the center of his Garden a fountain telling the story of the childhood of Apollo, the sun god that he had chosen for his emblem. In the background is an elevation view of the palace. Antoine Herisset (1685-1769) was an engraver based in Paris.
