This is a beautiful circa 1782 map depicts Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Parts of Virginia and Florida are also included. Published during the closing stages of the American Revolution, the map beautifully notes important rivers, towns, villages, cities, lakes and a host of other topographical features with elevation rendered in profile. Bordering Indian Nations to the west are also noted. Identifies Cape Fear, Hatteras, Cape Lookout, and Portsmouth, as well as the Appalachian Mountains in the west. The map is in good condition with original platemark visible.

The map appears as pl. 3; From Hilliard d'Auberteuil, M. R. 'Essais historiques et politiques sur les Anglo-Americains.

Hilliard Auberteuil, historian and economist, was best known as the author of 'Considerations sur etat present de la colonie francaise de Saint-Domingue where he was critical of the French administration of the Colony. He produced 'Essais Historiques' in Paris.
