The collection was gathered by his daughter, a calligraphied page at the rear contains the signatures of friends, family, and colleagues.

I am in the process of building a library of books from the interwar period to document and understand the events as seen by contemporaries as very often knowledge of what happened afterwards colours the views of historians.
