Each letter is one 8vo page, the first in holograph & the second typed with a holograph postscript. Sissinghurst Castle, Kent, September 8, 1938 & 6th March 1940.
The first, is a letter of introduction to her son, Benedict, "who is going to spend a couple of months at the Fogg Museum in Cambridge...He is interested in books and pictures...a charming companion. So do ask him to tea with you one day ..." The second letter which she promises to send on to Ben who is in quarantine for German Measles adds, "I was much touched, not only by the naming of the puppies, but also your sympathetic remarks about our troubles."Presumably she was referring to World War II.
