This handsome bird's eye view of San Francisco depicts the city from a high elevation looking towards the bay. Buildings and ships are rendered in great detail, and 13 numbered sites are labeled below the image. Notable sites listed include the California Exchange, Leonards Warehouse, the Market Street Pier, Yerba Buena Island, and more. Published in Henry Bill's 1857 "History of the World" by Samuel Maunder. In very good condition, with one closed tear to left margin, and scattered foxing. A wonderful look at early San Francisco.
