Letter I by Federico Castellon is part of a wonderful collaboration between two artists, with each responsible for thirteen alternate letters, and a self-portrait. Federico Castellon (1914-1971), was a surrealist printmaker, illustrator, painter, and sculptor. He was born in Almeria, Spain in 1914. With his family, he immigrated in 1921 to the United States. Although self taught, he had his first exhibition in NYC when he was eighteen. Peter Paone (1936- ) was born in Philadelphia and attended the Philadelphia College of Art. He is known for his humorous sugar lift etchings. Typography design by Barbara Paone (1939-1980) graphic designer and poet from Philadelphia. Extreme image, available upon request.
