Flower bouquet with fruit and a butterfly
Watercolor and gouache on pith paper. Tipped onto a backing sheet at each corner and bordered by strips of embroidered fabric. A few splits in the corners but otherwise in good condition. 10 1/4 x 14 1/4 inches.
Accomplished painting of a botanical arrangement, from China for the export market, undated but early 19th century. Beautifully painted with many flowers and a butterfly.
