Original poster featuring an illustration of Maurice Sendak looking into a mirror and waving, with his reflection showing Mickey Mouse waving back. Sendak was a collector of Disneyana, and had a personal affinity for Mickey Mouse who inspired his character in his book "The Night Kitchen".
"This print, by Maurice Sendak, limited to 500 copies, signed by the artist, was issued on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition, 'Maurice Sendak: The Artist's Collection of Children's Toys, Books, and Drawings,' at the Rosenbach Museum and Library, 2010 DeLancey Place, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, May 13, 1981."

Maurice Sendak (1928-2012) was an American illustrator and writer known for his children's books. Producing illustrations for other authors as well as for television, he is best remembered for "Where the Wild Things Are," which is considered by some to be one of the first contemporary picture books. This print is a lovely memento of his work.
