She gave twenty-two thousand livres to found a mission for instructing the poor, noted on the map.

The Lot-et-Garonne region of France is known for its Buzet wines. The map includes three cartouches, including the title cartouche in the top right, all elaborately illustrated with cherubs. In good condition with wear along the centerfold and toning throughout. Dutch text on verso.

Jan Jansson was part of an influential family of map publishers from the Netherlands throughout the 17th century and beyond. They were based in Arnhem then in Amsterdam. They were printers, publishers and booksellers. Major publications were under the joint ownership of the Jansson heirs and their printing empire.
