Bernoulli Pere", 4to. 1 page, Basal, December 26th 1745, (translated), writing to a friend in which they share the same surname, in full: "Although it appears that people in Paris think me no longer alive, since I have received no memoirs, no knowledge of the times, no items on Cabestan, nothing indeed of all the academy has had printed this year. I would nevertheless be mortified if you too were of those who forgot about me. Accept then, Sir, that I take advantage of the circumstance of this moment to remind you of my existence by presenting you my compliments for the New Year we are just about to enter, which I wish you to be the happiest in all respects and with many more just like it. I beg you to save for me that portion of your friendship I deserve and to believe forever in the unconditional attachment with which I am honored to be." P.S.
