Illustrated with 420 exquisitely hand-colored plates + 1 duplicate + 2 folding black & white plates of plants, vegetables and herbs, done in the Redoute style of stipple-engraving by Turpin and Anne-Ernestine Panckoucke (pupil of van Spaendonck and Redoute, and wife of the publisher of Flore Medicale). Most plates have the original tissue quards; very light foxing overall. Tall thick 8vo, older 1/2 crimson morocco over marbled boards, some hinges weak. Paris: Panckoucke, 1814 - 1820. An unusually clean set.
