First Edition. Follow-up to The Movements of the Stomach, etc., but this time focusing on the intestines, by the pioneer in x-ray observation of the movements of the gastro-intestinal system. Cannon (1871-1945) was the first to discover that bismuth, which is opaque to x-rays, served admirably to bring out the contour of the stomach and intestines during activity. This work is the first radiological investigation of the intestines.
