Heilprin was an American geologist, who arrived in Martinique very soon after the eruption of Mount Pelee in 1902. He was the first scientist to ascent the crater of the volcano. This work is his report on his third visit the volcano in 1903 and includes published photographs by him. Internally, a tight bright copy.
