Tall thin 4to, handsomely bound by C. Walters in full red morocco with gilt fillet borders and gilt-decorated spine; original wrappers bound-in at rear (leather is somewhat rubbed but still very sound and quite attractive). London: R. A finely illustrated account of the Liverpool line, with a glowing report of the railroad's contribution to the prosperity of the important manufacturing center. It was the opening of the Liverpool & Manchester Line in 1830 that first impressed the national mind with the fact that a revolution in methods of travelling had really taken place.
