Thomas Thynne was a member of parliament who was a supporter of the Duke of Monmouth and against the Duke of York, the future James II. Thynne sent six men to murder one of his wife's former suitors, Count John Konigsmark. In response, John Stern and George Borsky, followers of Konigsmark, attacked Thynne's coach. Thynne was mortally wounded. The attackers were found guilty and executed. Wing B5814
