Report describing the progress of Central Park with extensive information including a list of board members, notes from the treasury, descriptions of continuing construction, comparisons to other New York City parks and explanations on the park's drainage system. The handsome lithographs depict the Terrace, several bridges, vignettes, and a large folding color profile map of the elevations of the park. The impressive map of the entire park "Map of the Central Park Showing the progress of the Work up to January 1st 1860" as laid out by Frederick Law Olmstead and Calvert Vaux, shows all footpaths and carriage roads, topography and elevations, bodies of water, buildings and trees. Pencil notations and embossed stamp of B. Walker and Sons Book Binders on first page, Small tear to map, cover and binding has bumps to corners but otherwise very good, scuff to lower right corner of "Archway under footpath", with duplicate added, otherwise excellent condition.
