Description: 3 pages, 10.5 x 7.25, with holograph corrections, stapled in the upper left corner, Pompano Beach, Florida. April 24, 1972. In this warm, detailed letter, signed "Jerry" to Herbert Mayes, editor of "Good Housekeeping" and "Cosmopolitan," Weidman discusses his latest work and living situation. In part: "...I had just read the advance galleys of Steve Birmingham's forthcoming biography of John Marquand, and at one point he says that Marquand said 'Herbert Mayes was the best editor I ever worked with.' I was irked. That was exactly what I had told Marquand. Anyway, it's true...I will send you and Grace a copy of 'Tiffany Street' as soon as they come off the press..."
