Wilson, A.A., Quartermaster U.S. Army," signed by Geary as commanding officer. 1 page, oblong folio (docketed on verso), 13 x 16.5 inches. Georgia, September 10, 1864. Excellent condition.
Geary was an American general and politician; first mayor of San Francisco (1850); governor of Kansas (1856-57) and Pennsylvania (1866-73); wounded 3 times in Mexican and Civil wars; hero of Gettysburg and Sherman's March.
