She tells the cook "Your future will be a brilliant one. You will some day marry a rich and handsome gentleman." Black and white painting on panel of a frenetic dance scene, with Satan playing a horn, dated 1884. Painting is in excellent condition. Paine (1858-1905) was an American artist born in Vermont. He studied art and worked many years in Philadelphia and later in Paris. More
