Signed in full by the Nobel Prize-winning author, thanking a donor for his contribution to prison libraries, in part: "...Lassen Sie mich Ihnen. auch im Namen der Gefangen, dafur den herzlichsten Dank Sagen!..." Egypt: 1974. Two rare and seldom seen official holiday greeting cards (unsigned), printed by the Egyptian government for official use by President Anwar Sadat. The first, from 1974-1975, measures 5.5 x 8 inches and depicts a Muslim-stained glass image and an embossed Egyptian Heraldic Eagle Coat of Arms on the cover. 1940. Scarce signed photograph: "G.H. Whipple", black and white, paper stock, 8" X 10", a shoulder-up image of Dr. Whipple dressed in a laboratory coat and grasping a microscope, c. late 1940's. Minor foxing at the lower right-hand corner otherwise in very good condition. American physician and pathologist who shared the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1934 with George Richards Minot and William Parry Murphy; for their discoveries concerning liver therapy in cases of anemia.
