A fascinating early depiction of ayahuasca, a psychoactive concoction made from the caapi vine (identified here as 'Hayac Huasca') and chacruna (identified here in Quechua as 'Samuna'). This brew has very strong psychedelic properties and is used in shamanic ceremonies throughout the Amazon. Engraved by Antonio Giovanni Faldoni who was based in Asolo, Italy (1690-1770). Rare. More
