Waugh, the portrait features Abraham Lincoln and his wife Mary Todd with their two surviving sons Robert and Tad. A portrait of the third son, who died in 1862, is seen hanging on the wall behind. Most well known for his stamp and bank note engravings, he had a long and illustrious career with ANBC (American Bank Note Co.) working under famed engravers Charles Burt and Alfred Jones.
