Uncommon vintage ballpoint signature in English and Japanese with an added salutation on a 2.75 x 2-inch card, handsomely set in a dark blue mat with a black-and-white publicity photo from "Sayonara." No place, no date, circa 1957. Fine condition. Japanese-born actress best known for her Oscar-winning performance in the 1957 film "Sayonara." In the 1960s she appeared as Mrs. Livingston in the television series "The Courtship of Eddie's Father." More

Beautiful example of this highly detailed map of Japan, from Valentyn's Oud en Nieuw Oost-Indien, one of the earliest contemporary maps to report information drawn from the Dutch V.O.C. The map shows each of the Japanese provinces, with place names along the route from Nagasaki to Jedo. The place names are all given in Dutch nomenclature.
