Autographed Letter Signed on personal letterhead

1 page, 9 x 5.5 inches, Chicago, September 25, 1890. Written by the American opera composer on his own beautiful and detailed letterhead, accepting election to a Dallas historical society, in part: "...I appreciate the compliment implied and accept with thanks for your kindness. I will send [sic] photograph, as requested, and possibly something else, later..." Corners mounted on same-size paper backing; two horizontal folds. Very good condition.
