Nicely detailed map of New York divided into counties with parts of the surrounding states. Shows cities and towns, railroads, major routes and canals. Includes two insets of the vicinities of Niagara Falls and New York City. In very good condition. Minor toning and smudges on margins, not affecting the image.
The Colton family was one the most prolific and successful publishers of maps and atlases in the United States. Joseph Hutchins Colton (1800-1893) founded his business in NYC in 1831.
