Classic map of Tennessee showing early county divisions. Published after the passage of the Indian Removal Act 1830, but before Cherokee Removal in 1838, this map includes Cherokee Territory (and Brainerd mission) in the southeast corner. Shows major towns, routes and waterways.
Anthony Finley (c. 1790-1840) was a prominent American cartographic publisher in the early 19th century. This map was published in "A New General Atlas", which was well received and praised for its clearness and accuracy.
