This bust of George Washington was published as the frontispiece to "Voyage dans la Haute Pensylvanie et dans l'etat de New-York" by Michel Crevecoeur. In this portrait, Washington's left profile is depicted on a medallion. Pierre Francois Tardieu (1711-1771) came from a family of engravers and map makers based in Paris.
