Very scarce A.L.S., 2 pages, oblong 8vo, personal letterhead, May 3rd, 1916, providing a friend with comfort on the loss of a loved-one, in part: "...A simple expression of Sympathy cannot alleviate the great grief which you have both now hear... I feel that I have lost a young friend. If he is now passed through his last battle at least we have the meaning of his first character and beautiful disposition to support as in our loss..." Boldly signed and in very good condition.

American physician best remembered as the first to describe an important and early diagnostic sign of Measles, now known as Koplik's Spots.
