This rare map of the Holy Land shows the areas of ancient Syria and Lebanon and the Holy Land along the Mediterranean Sea. Published in 1562, it is elaborately decorated with pictorial mountains, and cities, as well as giant sea creatures in the water. From the Geneva Bible, one of the most historically significant translations of the Bible into English, preceding the King James Version by 50 years. It was the primary Bible of 16th-century English Protestantism. Laor 169.
