Stafford was an American test pilot and NASA astronaut. This item comes from the personal collection of Anatole Forostenko (1939- ), US Government translator and negotiator assigned to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Johnson Space Center for the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project in 1975. In this capacity, Forostenko was responsible for teaching Russian to the Apollo astronauts as well as serving as a liaison officer in an attempt to bridge the gap caused by the cultural differences existing between the two crews. Needless to say, he spent hundreds of hours interacting with the Russian and American crews, developing camaraderie before, during and after the mission that would culminate into life-long friendships with all.
Condition: Very Good(+)
