London: Methuen, 1907.
A collection of 49 plates (one in color) of Beerbohm's fine caricatures. Each with a tissue guard with a facsimile of Max's handwriting describing the subject. Thick folio, bound in the original red cloth-backed boards with printed paper label on front cover (covers quite rubbed, bumped & stained; spine very faded). London: Methuen, (1907). First Edition.
The glued binding is still solid, and the plates are in fine condition. The subjects include Henry James, G.K. Chesterton, John Singer Sargent, H.G. Wells, Bernard Shaw, and Winston Churchill.
