A.L.S. "Anthony Burgess", on a 5" x 3" card, no place, no date, but most likely during 1992 when he was receiving chemotherapy for lung cancer, in full: "Many thanks for your kindness. Forgive my not being able to write at greater length, but I've been ill and am still a little weak. But your letter strengthens me." Boldly signed and in excellent condition.
