Two A.L.S.'s written two days apart to Mr. Arthur Klein, whereby Sir Ampthil is very concerned he will have to miss an important Masonic Lodge Reception due to an urgent debate held in the House of Lords. First Letter: 8vo. 2 pages, 62 Pont Street, S.W. November 20th 1910, in full: "You have, I am sure, realized that I may be unable to attend the Reception tomorrow. It all depends on the all important Debate in the House of Lords which cannot possibly be fore told. I can only say that we shall come if it is at all possible but that we shall not be able to let you know beforehand. I am sure that we shall be kindly excused if at this last moment we are unable to come." The second: 8vo., 2 pages, 62 Pont Street S.W. November 21st 1910, in full: "Many thanks for your letter. You will know by the newspapers that the House of Lords debate has been adjourned till Wednesday. We are therefore happily free to come to the Empire Lodge Reception tomorrow. Yours faithfully and fraternally." Very good condition.
