This large map of Scotland depicts the region in impressive detail. Topography is beautifully rendered by hachure, and county divisions are hand colored. Cities, rivers, towns, lakes, mountains, and roads are labeled. Insets show The Orkney Islands and The Shetland Islands.

William Faden (1750-1836) was an 18th century English cartographer, engraver mapseller and publisher and 'Geographer to His Majesty & to his H.R.H. the Prince of Wales, George III & George IV. One of these maps is owned by the Queen of England in the Royal collection.

James Wyld (1812-1887) was a distinguished British mapmaker known for producing maps and globes. He served as Geographer to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
