This incredibly detailed map of Paris and its surroundings from the 19th century stretches from Les Loges in the southwest to the Iles de Garenne in the northwest, and from Bonneuil sur Marne to Vitry. There is some hand coloring in the Seine River and streets, some buildings, towns, and hachures are labeled. The Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge, or SDUK was formed in 1826 and published low cost maps with the goal of reaching a large market while still maintaining high quality and precision.
