London: Laurie & Whittle, 1794.
Map. Hand Colored Engraving. 21" x 28".
Beautiful map of the Kingdom of Hungary from 1794 showcasing the different regions within the kingdom. Lower and Upper Hungary are central, making up what is today Hungary, parts of Slovakia and Austria. Transylvania is outlined in red, Sclavonia in green, and Croatia in fuschia. Accurately displays the political boundaries of the kingdom at the time. Shows mountains and elevation, labels rivers, cities, etc. Extends in the southwest from the Gulf of Venice to the Principality of Valakia in the southeast, to Vienna in the northwest, and just beyond the Carpathian Mountains in the northeast. A must have map for savants of central and eastern European history.
